Lebanhmi (Restoran Hock Hin, Subang Jaya)

I might have a slight obsession with Banh Mi (Vietnamese sandwiches) after sinking my teeth in my first one from Obanhmi (Damansara Uptown). It might be a mini quest of mine to continuously hunt for one, even better if it was priced cheaper.

Unexpectedly discovered one today in a neighbouring coffee shop. In an area that I have spent my elementary school years in, I was obviously over the moon today with our discovery.

Similar to the one offered in Obanhmi, the baguette was chewy with a nice hint of crustiness. As we always love our food with a nice kick of spiciness, we requested for chilis to be added in – definitely a great punch to the overall offering paired with grilled pork.

Reasonably priced at RM 6 each, I am already looking forward to my next visit. Paired it with a cup of local coffee, a great meal at less than RM10. How can I not love our Malaysian coffee shops? 🙂

Pickle & Fig (TTDI, KL)

PF1

I’ve always been a fan of bread, even more so when it come in the form of sandwiches (particularly Panini: I could probably eat it everyday). Pickle & Fig has been on my sandwich bucketlist for the longest time, and today was the day.

PF(5)

Offering fresh gourmet bread in the form of white or wholemeal, bread lovers would definitely take their time to soak in the variety of choices that is made available on the menu. Salads and smoothies were also on their list. But I had coffee on my mind.

Happily placed my order for a Smoked Turkey Roll & Cheddar Panini (RM15), excellent stuff.

PF(3)

What’s not to love about cheddar cheese on Panini? Not forgetting the sautéed mushrooms sandwiched in between the turkey roll and cheddar gave a little flavour to the overall Panini, a good thing that it was not salty as well.

Bro made an order for Hoisin Chicken & Grilled Zucchini Panini (RM16).

PF(4)

Sliced chicken breast, grilled zucchini and hard-boiled egg on wholemeal bread topped off with mozzarella. We love this combination better, the sauce from the chicken definitely made a difference.

Our usual Flat White (RM8). Definitely no high acidity aftertaste going on here, but still pleasant.

PF(2)

Simplicity at its best, perfect for a post run meal 🙂
