Had a short getaway to our neighbouring country – Singapore. I am pretty sure Marina Bay came to mind 😉 The view is a real sight to behold overlooking the waterfront promenade, my personal favourite will be during the fall of dusk.
However, the place that I was staying in – Robertson Quay, has a personal charm on its own.
Located along Singapore River and a quay away from bustling Clarke Quay, this residential estate falls no short of restaurants and cafés.
As we took a slow stroll along Robertson Quay, Toby’s Estate Café was the first café we stumbled upon.
A franchise from an Australian coffee chain, it was a pretty good place to catch up with an old friend as it was relatively quiet during the late afternoon.

Breakfast this morning was at Kith Café, and it was a really satisfying one 🙂
During my strolls along the riverside, I kept seeing people walking past me with this particular takeaway coffee cup. It definitely perk my curiosity on the coffee, and I was glad I finally found out which café it belonged to.
Bacon Sandwich ($16) came in the form of poached eggs, pork bacon and avocado on toast.

In comparison to the other cafes that I have visited during my trip here, the food and coffee here is pretty reasonably priced. The coffee here was the best among the others that we have tried. Reviews have shown that Common Man Coffee Roasters serves up one of the best coffee in the area (another 5 minutes away from Kith), hopefully the next round 🙂
Another interesting observation was that the cafés here open their doors early in the morning for breakfast (7am) and closes in the late afternoon (6pm). Now if only this happens in motherland, that would make morning birds like us really happy *hint* 🙂
