A spin off from Word & Steel Cafe in Kota Damansara, we paid a visit to BAD Cafe in Glomac Galleria, Desa Sri Hartamas this morning for our brunch session.
Staying true to their wood & steel concept, the 2-floor space was tastefully decorated with wooden chairs and tables, while throwing in the steel element to play with its interior.
An aerial view from the second floor, definitely photo worthy with the interior and space.
In comparison to Wood & Steel Cafe, there was abundance of space with more seats and tables available; as well as cakes selection.
Flat White (RM10)
Egg Benedicts (RM12) is made up of perfectly poached eggs topped with hollandaise sauce on toast with sauteed mushrooms and chicken ham. Just a note that the original offering comes in beef, so do request to opt for ham if you do not eat beef (like I do). Portion might also be slightly small for those with a heartier appetite.
Big Breakfast (RM18) comes in a generous portion of ham, sausage, toast, egg, sauteed mushrooms & tomatoes and baked beans.
If I have to choose my ultimate peanut butter cake, it would be “The King” from VCR Cafe. So it was a very exciting moment for me when I spotted it in the cake display.
“The King” (RM12) comes in the form of a banana cake layered with peanut butter frosting (naturally) with bananas and chocolate. Weekend guilty pleasure indeed! 🙂
A pleasant spin to a localised cake would be this fluffy Pandan cake layered with agar-agar like filling (occasionally seen in cendol) topped with gula melaka (coconut palm sugar). Definitely an interesting combination while being light on the tastebud.
We enjoyed how this place was less crowded as compared to more popular cafes, definitely prefect for some serious catch up. Meanwhile if you’re looking for some alone time, this place would be a good alternative 🙂
